Project: Wise About Eyes

What you see here is our animation created for the entrance to the museum exhibit "Wise About Eyes". This exhibit is travelling throughout the state of Ohio at various natural history museums.

Fun Facts!

This animation appears to hover in space, like a hologram, in front of the monitor it is displayed on. A terrific illusion that makes for an eye-popping holographic animation too! The special equipment used to create this effect is much like the materials used for the "floating penny trick". This trick involves placing a copper penny in the bottom of a shiny, mirrored bowl. The bowl is constructed in such a way that an image of the penny is projected into space inches above the real one.

In this exhibit, the display monitor is placed at a child's eye-level to attract their attention and draw them into the exhibit. If they look closely at this animation, the children may see what looks like their own reflection.
