December 2006   Dena Matthews is appointed chairperson of the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association Metro Chapter Entrepreneur Affinity Group.

Nov. 24, 2004  LifeHouse Productions proudly presents at Swansea Animation Days SAND in Swansea, Wales, UK.   Alongside colleagues from Aardman Animation, Dreamworks, EA Games,  Rutgers University, Primal Pictures and others, LifeHouse offers their experiences and expertise in working with Pharmaceutical and Medico-Legal clientele. 

May 2003 The second edition of The Guild Handbook of Scientific Illustration is published.  Edited by Elaine Hodges, this book brings together experts in many disciplines in the world of scientific illustration to author chapters including topics on rendering techniques, subject matter and operating a business.  Bill Matthews and Dena Winkleman author the 21st century chapter on 3D computer animation.  This chapter is informative for both the novice and experienced scientific digital animator and enlightening to curious scientific illustrators.  Matthews and Winkleman present the information so it is useful for users of all computer animation software applications.   Any animator can benefit from reading this.  Elaine Hodges did an excellent job in editing this book.  She dedicated an untold amount of careful collaboration, reviews and editing for the creation of this book.  This is a must-have reference for anyone interested in the field of scientific illustration.  To purchase this book from Wiley Publishers see their website.

March 2003 LifeHouse Productions' donates Deer Tick animation to educate children in the BioBus. The emotional animation, a dramatic "in your face" view of a monstrous tick puncturing the skin, is featured in Exploria Productions' educational video on Lyme Disease. The BioBus is a state-of-the-art educational mobile biotechnology laboratory that travels around the Northeast and is one of three operating mobile biotechnology learning laboratories in the country.  The bus is a partnership of CURE, Connecticut's BioScience cluster.

February 2003 LifeHouse Productions' animation provides medical content to Saint Francis Hospital's :30 television commercial, Portal Access Heart Surgery. The animation depicts the small incision created in a new surgical procedure to gain access to the heart. The revolutionary procedure is much less invasive than former practices used to perform heart surgery. The spot, produced by The Dornenburg Group, airs on WVIT (NBC), WFSB (CBS), and CPTV.

January 2003 Matthews and Winkleman continue teaching Digital Medical Visualization at NYU's graduate program, CADA.

Spring and Fall 2002 LifeHouse Productions' partners Dena Winkleman and Bill Matthews become adjunct faculty at New York University's Center for Advanced Digital Applications. As instructors for the popular graduate course, "Digital Medical Visualization using Maya" they not only teach the ins and outs of medical animation but also.prepare students to work in the real world with clients focusing on topics such as demo reels, contracts, storyboarding, modeling, lighting, troubleshooting, and finding a job.

December 2001 LifeHouse Productions' animated "thumbs up" appears on Flex-A-Min product boxes!  This fun, animated lenticular shows a 3D "X-Ray" style hand with arthritis transform into a healthy "thumbs-up" pose signaling a pain free hand .  The lenticular process is printed by Kodak using, in this case, 15 frames of animation.  Check it out at your local supermarket, pharmacy or contact us if you are interested in a similar treatment for your product!

October 2001 HIV-1 Virion graces the back cover of the Journal of Biocommunications (JBC).

October 2001 The Rx Club Show accepts LifeHouse Productions' animation into their juried show with an Award of Excellence..

September 2001 The Arts Alliance Center at Clear Lake, Houston bestows First and Third Place Awards to LifeHouse Productions animations.

September 2001 Medical and Corporate Animation in POST Magazine features LifeHouse Production' DNA Animation.

August 2001  LifeHouse Productions' DNA Animation wins a Certificate of Merit from the esteemed  Association of Medical Illustrators' Annual Salon.  The DNA animation was created for the show Breaking the Code: The Race to Uncover the Secret of Life which aired last winter on the Discovery Health Channel.  For more information about the show, please see November 26, 2000 and our animation.

March/April 2001  LifeHouse Productions is featured in the AMI News, the newsletter of the Association of Medical Illustrators.   The article, pp. 8-9 of the newsletter,  is an interview with the two partners, "Wild Bill" Matthews and Dena Winkleman of LifeHouse Productions.    Read the story here!

February 2001 LifeHouse Productions gets the Finalist award for Health & Medicine, Video category of the 22nd Telly Awards.   The award-winning piece is one of a group of a pharmaceutical tradeshow videos that LifeHouse Productions produced for a major pharmaceutical company.

January 2001 LifeHouse takes home two 2000 Communicator Awards! This time for the tradeshow video created for medical ad agency Lyons, Lavey, Nickel & Swift.  LifeHouse Productions was honored with a Crystal Award of Excellence in the category of Creativity/Special Effects/Animation & an Award of Distinction in the Medical/Educational category.

December 12, 2000 Have you checked POST magazine's "Postings" this month?  Well, we're in it!  See page 70 under Connecticut.  You can read about our animation from the Discovery Health Channel's show Breaking the Code: The Race to Uncover the Secret of Life.

November 26, 2000 Broadcast Debut of Breaking the Code: The Race to Uncover the Secret of Life-- DNA Animation from LifeHouse Productions answers the questions "What is DNA and a gene?" and "How can a malfunctioning gene cause disease?".  Broadcast on the new Discovery Health Channel Nov. 26, Nov. 28 and Dec. 2, 2000.

November 16, 2000 LifeHouse Productions covered in POST magazine's "Medical and Corporate Animation" article, pg. 78, artwork and information about creating animation specifically for the medical field.

November 2000 Once again, LifeHouse wins an Award of Excellence at the annual Rx Club Show in New York!  The award was given in the video category for medical education.  The topics covered in the video were prostate cancer, the hormonal mechanism of action (MOA), and current research to halt benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

September 30, 2000 The "Wise About Eyes" exhibit opens in at the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery, Dayton, Ohio.  The entrance of this exhibit features our new eye animation, projected in 3D!

September 2000 LifeHouse Productions' illustration of a deer tick takes First Place in the Open Science division of  The Arts Alliance Center at Clear Lake's digital art competition.  One of the judges is the art director at Scientific American magazine. Also this month, look for us in POST, CGW and A/V Video Magazines!

June 2000 Our Gallery page appears in Markee magazine!   Here we show off some of our latest projects.

May 2000 The Medical Marketing Association announces that LifeHouse Productions is an "In Awe"  winner for medical animation! This is the seventh award within one year bestowed upon the LifeHouse team!  The awards ceremony is June 15th in Scottsdale, AZ.
