LifeHouse Productions, 3D medical animation, 3D medical animators

To see the medical animation of a remorgida please download QuickTime player.

Project: The Remorgida- grasps, cauterizes and cuts.

You know how hard it can be to quickly and easily explain what a medical device does?

We can explain it for you. Here, we transform a blueprint into full 3D animation; eliminating unnecessary gore and clarifying the instrument's action....in seconds.

When you need to show your blueprinted prototype in action, or perhaps explain the patented features of a medical device whether it is to generate funding or to win a jury trial - LifeHouse Productions can help!

We solve problems like these all the time. Bringing biomedicine to life is our business.

Fun Facts!

Cauterization is the process of destroying tissue by the application of chemical corrosion or electricity, or by heating or freezing it. Cautery effectively reduces or stops hemorrhaging by "burning" the bleeding blood vessels, sealing them off. The technique has been used since ancient times.

Back then, cauterization of open wounds, even those following amputation of a limb, was performed with hot irons. This served to close off the bleeding vessels and hold off infection. The ancient Egyptians used an instrument called the fire drill for such purposes. In early Islamic medicine, Albucasis (936-1013) described the surgical practice of cautery to open abscesses, burn skin tumors and hemorrhoids (O U C H!) cleanse wounds and stanch blood flow. Later, during the Renaissance, Brunschwig (1450-1533) believed that shot wounds were poisoned by gunpowder and therefore required cautery.

By the 1920's, thermocautery was introduced to repair detached retinas.

Today, Electrocautery is performed using specific probes or instruments (as the Remorgida, above), which have electric current running through them, to cauterize the tissue.
